KPA the people's life transmission

 

Mombasa port is a prized national asset for Kenya .It not only facilitate the country's shipping trade but also serves as a strategic asset for the East Africa.Kenya Maritime and shipping industry has undergone tremendous transformation in so many different ways.The port has played a major role in serving East Africa economies given that it has Mombasa has the only port in Kenya.

Kenya Port Authority is a state corporation with the responsibility to maintain,operate improve and regulate all the scheduled seaports on the Indian ocean costline of Kenya including kilindini harbour.

Mombasa county being known as an industrial city and a port city,it has helped it's residents in different ways ,be it economically, socially or politically.The main key thing is the creation of job opportunities for the people of coast.Both learned and illiterate have been able to get jobs in different fields may it be blue color or white color jobs.Many people have been able to get employment through the KPA.

Due to the creation of job opportunities, the living standard of many residents has been improved as they can get money to cater for their families and survive well. People getting employed has also reduced the idleness that is there .When one isn't working you'll find that many people have something to keep them busy and this reducing theft since a good percentage can survive on their own.

Education level has risen in Mombasa.For example the students studying on the higher institution are being able to get placements of attachment and internship.Through the KPA many have been able to get placements and this has promoted the education since the students will gain knowledge and skills.

There has been reduction of urban traffic congestion of people and vehicle around the port area due to the new construction of roads and roundabouts thus leading to the growth of be town and expansion of the city .This had been ensuring smooth running of the activities around the port 

As it is always said everything good has its own negativity,it has been found that the fumes and the waste material released by the ships as they transport cargo has affected the lives of the fish in water and other living creatures in the ocean.The fish and other living creatures have lost the safe place to breath due to the waste released in water.

Fisherman doing fishing around and near the port have also been warned not to fish again around the place and this has negatively affected their fishing.
